News can confirm the Team USA athlete married his fiancé Nicole Johnson all the way back on June 13 in Maricopa County, Ariz.
The marriage license was issued June 9, 2016. According to TMZ, who first broke the news, the wedding was officiated by Michael's agent and longtime friend Peter Carlisle.
On the actual wedding day, Nicole cryptically posted on social media, "Such a memorable night with my lil fambam."
In the weeks and months leading up to the romantic ceremony, Nicole shared a few details of what fans could expect on the big day. As it turns out, the proud mom appears to have left one big point out: The celebration had already occurred.
"It'll be small and intimate for the wedding, and then we're throwing a massive bash for everyone in the states," she shared withAccess Hollywood. "I've been planning as we've been leading up to this, so I think I have the wedding in order and now it's on to the party for the fun."
With Michael retired from swimming, the couple is now focused on spending even more time together as a family.
The pair welcomed a baby boy namedBoomer Phelps in May. In just a matter of months, he has already experienced his first Olympics and met more than a few famous faces.
As for mom and dad, they are also excited to enjoy the next chapter of their lives as husband and wife.
"Now we get to have fun," Nicole shared withCosmopolitan. "We get to enjoy parts of life that everybody gets to on a daily basis that we had to step away from so Michael could go and do what he needed to do."
She added, "We're still learning what date night is and we're balancing with Boomer. We love going to dinner. We love being home and cooking together. We're homebodies."
