By Benjamin Njoku HERITAGE Bank’s sponsored entrepreneurial competition show, which is Nigeria’s foremost entrepreneurial reality TV show; ‘The Next Titan’ is back for the fourth season. The reality TV show is scouting for ambitious entrepreneurs seeking to demonstrate their entrepreneurial acumens with unbeatable business ideas, commercial insight and business savvy to stay out of eviction line in order to win the star prize of N5 million and a brand new car for the support of their business. The season 4 auditions will commence next week in Abuja, before moving to Port Harcourt and Lagos.
Addressing the press earlier in the week, the Executive producer of the show, MideKunle-Akinlaja, said Season 4 promises to be more exciting as auditions will kick start next week in Abuja, before moving to Port Harcourt; and then Lagos with a lot of exciting pre-show activities such as Top 50 Boot Camp holding in Lagos, Premiere Show Gala Evening and many others. In this season 4, Akinlaja said they have extended auditions to the South East which will hold in the city of Enugu, courtesy of Hero Lager. On the importance of The Next Titan, the executive producer said ‘It lies in igniting entrepreneurial spirit, and showcasing the possibility of entrepreneurship in transforming lives with just an idea that can be scaled to greatness with a market and with Nigeria’s population. Also the show, by scouting for young talented people who have entrepreneurial acumens, grooming them through a rigorous task and boardroom process and eventually funding a winner’s idea, leading to an opportunity to create jobs for themselves and others, is indeed a big contributor to the socio-economic development of Nigeria,” he added. He said the show which has top Nigerian business leaders such as Kyari Bukar, chairman, Nigerian Economic Summit Group; Tonye Cole, CEO, Sahara Group; and other captains of industry as judges is designed to sharpen and ignite the entrepreneurial spirit in young Nigerians, and represents opportunity, inspiration and more importantly recognizes ordinary Nigerians that have determination, gusto and a ‘can-do’ attitude with some of the best business ideas. 16 finalists will live together for 10 weeks, battle one another over 10 tough business tasks and they will be gradually eliminated until one remains. The contestants will have very real street smarts in order to make it through the challenges, and the contestants will prove their entrepreneurial acumens through various business-challenges on the 10-week show. The winner of season 3 edition, Marvis Marshal-Idio, a graduate of Architecture from University of Uyo, and holder of Master’s Degree in Interior Designs from Florence Designs Academy, Italy had a crazy business idea of turning trashes into furniture and furnishings.
