Shakira must be gleaming with pride!
The 39-year-old Colombian singer's school Fundación Pies Descalzos was named the best official educational institution in Colombia. The Alberto Merani Foundation carried a study of evaluating different schools between public and private, taking data from the Saber 11 test from 2011-2015. The Saber 11 test are done each year with the objective of publishing a ranking of the best colleges in Colombia and helping parents decide what kind of educational institution they want for their children.
The school, which was founded by Shakira in 2009, has over 1,300 students.
Shakira, who was on set in Madrid, quickly took to Instagram to share the incredible news with her fans. "Right now I'm in the middle of shooting something but I have just received amazing news, and I want to take a pause to celebrate it. Every year in Colombia they create a list where they choose the best public and private schools according to their Saber test results. And guess who leads the list? Fundación Pies Descalzos in Barranquilla! Sending all the students there a big kiss. I love you guys and let's aim for more," she said.
